A sappy, sloppy, snappy gratitude blog post

This blogging business — I really just love it! It is the coolest thing, to write this or that, post it on the blog, and the next day (or sometimes the same day) Voila! I have virtual blogging friends telling me they liked what I wrote, and sharing their thoughts with me about it. How cool is that!

All superlatives aside, I just wanted to take a few minutes tonight I sincerely say THANK YOU (Tak skal du have in Danish) to all of you who have been reading and following my posts over the last months of me blogging. If you only knew how very deeply in the depths of depression and despair I was before I started doing it, and how each time one of you clicked ‘like’ or even better, wrote a comment on something I wrote made me feel so… liberated somehow, like all of you were giving me your hands to climb out of the hole with, a little more each day. In a very real way, all of you blogger friends and readers have saved my life this year. I feel a real kinship with so many of you, as one nice blogger wrote to me once, like we are kindred spirits, part of the same tribe… or at the very least, like we of different tribes can meet in a peaceful and friendly way, kind of like a big virtual meeting of the clans…. we are the storytellers and musers, the singers of songs and the dreamers….part of something so much bigger than any of us can truly comprehend through intellect alone, but nevertheless we are joined through the spirit of adventure and quest for truth which lives in our hearts. Our beautiful hearts!

It has been such a rewarding experience for me to find your blogs, and read your thoughts, see your images, try to imagine your poetry, your prose, your stream of consciousness, your lives. It is like seeing the world through a thousand pairs of eyes, telling about the world and this crazy, beautiful life through a thousand voices… You know what I mean. All of your blogs help me to understand us humans in ways I never could do on my own. Books, novels and films are great and I love them for these same reasons, but it is simply exciting and fascinating to delve into all of your worlds through the blogging universe. I am absolutely hooked! Keep writing and posting and inundating my inbox, I love it! And so do thirty or so million others…. it’s crazy and so very wonderful. And I am extremely grateful to all of you for being brave and silly and intelligent and beautiful and deep and soulful and willful and hilarious and gut wrenching and sad and optimistic and realistic and totally off the wall and young and old and in-between and just so very, very, incredibly, outrageously, amazingly… Human.

And so I just want to thank you…..

and if you love Natalie Merchant as much as I do, then watch this:

When we sing over the bones, we are calling the wild nature, the instinctive soul back, singing it alive again. To live with our wildness intact, is the greatest gift a woman can give herself. "It is the holy poetry and singing we are after." C.P. Estes

  1. While my life has never been happier, I do understand. There are a number of bloggers who just seeing their post in my inbox, I feel a smile spread across my face. No doubt, a treat is in store! I do thank you for today’s post and many others I have enjoyed ( and forwarded to friends who do not blog). It is such a gift when someone take the time and thought to leave there comments and I am fortunate to have some that I treasure. Yes, a number of them from you! 🙂

  2. Ah,Natalie Merchant…there is a real woman! Lovely…thanks, sweetie……..and this experience, I know, has been a rich one for you… you are literally connected to the whole world…which you actually are……(smile)

  3. That’s so sweet of you to thank those who love to gain knowledge and experience from your writings, WE SHOULD THANK YOU!
All of us are bound by the great craving of expression and which later on becomes a passion, next, we can’t live without it and get really disturbed when we are so bound we can’t write a post on our blogs…..
So…now its a necessity, for me it’s even a greater necessity to try and absorb ALL the thoughts in the blogs, which is literally impossible. So i know there is lots of wisdom out there i miss everyday!
May you never visit the barren dead dark lands of depression EVER again!
    ♥ ♥ ♥
